Services for schools

Helping Young People to make good career decisions for life

Careers Advice Limited (part of the Connexions Thames Valley Group) offers bespoke packages of information, advice and guidance (IAG) support to schools and colleges in both the maintained and independent sectors.

We currently work with a number of schools providing a careers adviser on site to deliver one to one interviews, small or large group works, drop in clinics, parents’ evenings and assemblies, across all year groups as part of a careers advice programme. This flexible option allows the work to be tailored to the needs of the school and can range from a few days a term to several days a week.  As a guide we can offer careers adviser time at a rate of £215.00 per day. (The provision of all of our services may be subject to VAT at the prevailing rate from time to time).  We are also in a unique position in being able to offer a free follow up service to clients seen by us in schools through our web chat and telephone advice line service. Our local knowledge of the opportunities available and our expertise in higher education and the developing financial arrangements make us the provider of choice for schools and colleges in our area.

Our Careers Advice service only employs Level 4 qualified careers guidance professionals, most with a post graduate qualification in careers guidance, and years of experience in helping young people to achieve their goals.  They all receive continuous professional development, observation of professional practice and support and supervision.  In addition, all staff have access to comprehensive information resources, careers education materials and up to date information about national developments and research into IAG.  All staff have enhanced CRB checks and are fully trained in safeguarding and data protection.

We would be more than happy to meet to discuss your specific requirements and put together a bespoke package for your school or college.  We very much look forward to working with you in the future.
