Choices in Year 11
After year 11 you can either:
Stay on at your school's sixth form
- Speak to your teachers, careers adviser about the best subjects and qualifications for you
- Attend your school's 6th form open day to find out about the subjects and courses
- Consider whether you want to go to Uni and which subjects you might need for a certain course
Go to a local Further Education College
- Colleges offer a wide range of practical and academic subjects.
- Attend college open days to find out more about the college and subjects available
- Speak to friends or family who go to college to find out what it's like
Do an Apprenticeship
- If you want to go straight into work and want to learn on the job an apprenticeship may be for you
- Go to the National Apprenticeship Site for more information and to search for an apprenticeship
- Look on the Connexions Berkshire website for local vacancies
For more information and advice speak to your school careers adviser, teachers and parents/carers.
