Mephedrone is Now Illegal

The drug mephedrone became illegal from Friday 17th April.
 
Mephedrone dealers will face up to 14 years in prison

Following the completion of the formal parliamentary process, the drug will now be classified as a Class B drug .

From 17th April, anyone found in possession of mephedrone could face up to five years in jail.

The maximum sentence for dealing in the drug, also called meow meow or plant food, will be even more severe - 14 years.
