Morrisby Psychometric Profile

13-5-2010

David Cameron has just started his new job as Prime Minister, a role which he has worked towards for many years. However, how many of us are lucky enough to do a job we love or even know what career path we really want to follow?

Whether you’re unhappy in your current job and wish to change direction or if you are a young person trying to decide what to study at college or university, Connexions Berkshire can help.

In addition to our free information, advice and guidance service for young people, aged 13-19 or up to 25 for those with learning difficulties or disabilities, we also offers young people and adults the opportunity to undertake a Morrisby Profile assessment, which could help them make positive decisions about their future and discover their true potential.

The Morrisby Profile is an objective psychometric test which is designed to find out what people are really like and generate objective information that would be hard to get any other way. Normally a range of tests are taken and an interests questionnaire is completed to give a full picture of a person’s strengths, abilities and motivation. The relationships between their test results allow predictions to be made about the sort of environments and work which would suit them best. This service is available to young people and adults at a cost of £75 per person.

The Morrisby Profile is administered by fully trained Connexions Berkshire staff and all participants receive a comprehensive 20 page report detailing their strengths and aptitudes and how these link to their career interests.

Connexions Berkshire Personal Adviser, Aileen Sinclair, said, “Unlike our new Prime Minister, not everybody knows want they want to do when they grow up. The Morrisby Profile is a really good resource for young people in Years 11, 12 or 13 who are undecided about the type of job they’d like to do or if they’re wondering what subject to study at a higher level. It’s also an excellent tool for adults, who are thinking about a career change. So far we’ve helped hundreds of young people and adults across the county find their hidden talents by taking the test, which has in turn helped them to find careers that match their abilities and work interests.”

We will be holding our next Morrisby Profile assessment on Thursday 29th July at the Wokingham Connexions Centre at Anvil Court, 52 Denmark Street. Places are limited and must be booked in advance.
