Summer Activities Benefit Bracknell Teens

13-7-2010

Throughout the summer Connexions Berkshire will be encouraging those young people from Bracknell, who are harder to engage with, to participate in a range of activities to encourage them to develop new skills, make new friends and build self esteem and confidence.

The activities, which are aimed at our intensive clients and are funded by the Youth Service, include; team building through games (rounders and bowling), graffiti and street dance workshops, self defence and bush skills, including low ropes and raft building.

Throughout the activities, our team of specially trained Personal Advisers will be assessing the progress made by the young people involved and will award certificates of achievement at a presentation lunch to be held at the end of August.

Rebecca Hatch, Intensive Personal Adviser, said, “This is the fourth year we’ve run our summer activities programme and we’re hoping that 25 young people from the local area will join in, which will be the most we have ever had!”
