Exam Result Stress? We Have the Answers
13-7-2010
Next month thousands of young people across Berkshire will be nervously awaiting the results of their GCSE (Tuesday 24th August) and A-level (Thursday 19th August) examinations. For some students it will be a time to celebrate, but for others, who’ve done less well than they’d hoped, it could be worrying and stressful.
However, there’s no need to panic as our team of friendly, highly trained Personal Advisers (PAs) will be on hand to provide young people with all the information, advice and guidance they need to help them make the right decisions about their future.
Our PAs provide impartial and confidential support to all young people aged 13-19, or up to 25 for those with learning difficulties or disabilities, who live or go to school/college in Berkshire. Our six local Centres are located throughout the county in Bracknell, Maidenhead, Newbury, Reading, Slough and Wokingham.
Colin Poynter, Assistant Director Delivery, said, “For many young people, their parents and carers, waiting for exam results is an extremely tense time. The most important thing to remember is that help is available and our team of Personal Advisers have all the knowledge and expertise young people need to guide them through the maze of options available to them.”
During the exam results period, our Connexions Centres will be extending their opening hours to make accessing their information, advice and guidance services easier for young people, their parents and carers. To make an appointment, call into your local Centre, alternatively you can phone or email (Centre contact details below).
