About Connexions

Connexions is the Government’s support service for all young people aged 13-19 (and up to 25 for young people with learning difficulties or disabilities). Connexions is a national service but works in ‘partnership areas’ (e.g. Connexions Berkshire).

Every young person has access to a Connexions Personal Adviser (or PA), for some this may be just for careers advice, for others it may involve more in-depth support to help identify barriers to learning and personal development.  PAs give professional and confidential advice on a range of subjects from careers and education to drug abuse, homelessness and teenage pregnancy.  Connexions works in a range of settings: Connexions Centres, schools, colleges, community centres and on an out-reach basis.

The success of Connexions Berkshire depends on the involvement of the county’s young people - listening to and taking account of their views in the design and delivery of Connexions is essential (See the ‘Have Your Say’ page in the Young People's section for further details).
