Why Connexions holds data on you

Connexions provides a service to all young people aged 13-19 to enable you to make successful next steps following on from your compulsory education.

To do this we keep relevant information about you. Most of this information is held on a computer database.

Confidentiality of data

Your data is kept securely.

All data we keep about you is confidential unless:

a)  you give us permission to pass relevant information to other people and organisations, for example, to colleges or employers;

b)  you give us specific permission to pass relevant information to specialist organisations if you and your Personal Adviser feel it would benefit you;

c)  withholding information is against the law and would put you or others at risk.

Your right to access your data

Under the Data Protection Action 1998 you have a right to a copy of all records that we hold on you. If you want a copy of all your data held by us you should contact us at the address below to obtain a request form.

In accordance with the Act, we will provide you with a copy of all your data within 40 days of receiving your request.
